Galleria Klik
LONDON E-Business Support Programme
Case Study: Galleria Klik, Depo Olukotun
Depo Olukotun launched Galleria Klik in 2024 offering an online platform for artists to showcase urban art, rooted in multicultural London. The limited-edition pieces, including prints, pottery and art books – which are sold through an eBay store, are carefully curated to help art lovers dip in and find out what resonates with them.
When he joined the LONDON E-Business Support Programme with SBREC, Depo was keen to access 121 advice and support to develop a digital marketing strategy and learn more about SEO and how to use social media effectively to promote the business. He also wanted to learn more about using free or low-cost digital tools and AI to grow the business as well as to find out about ways to enhance his cyber security.
Digital Growth
Regular 121 sessions with SBREC Adviser, Corinne McGee, enabled Depo to focus his efforts on effective ways to increase Galleria Klik’s online presence and to use an eBay shop as a channel to promote his art – which has resulted in new sales. The implementation of QR codes on his business cards and other marketing literature has reaped benefits, including boosting the number of subscribers to his newsletter. As a result of the support, Depo was able to enhance his Instagram posts and promote his blog on the platform, which has sparked engagement with new commercial partners.
As well as 121 advice, Depo embraced the programme’s webinar series and attended over a dozen online sessions. This learning has been invaluable in pushing the business forward, improving his digital knowledge and understanding in areas such as: cyber security, marketing strategy, creating a 3-month content plan, email marketing and building online communities. As a result, Depo has made valuable changes in his business such as carrying out tasks to reduce the risk of cyber threats and using a social media scheduling timetable for posting.
Depo says:
“The LONDON E-Business Support Programme highlighted to me the importance of having business goals within a thought-through strategy which, in turn, informed Galleria Klik’s business planning. Galleria Klik is built essentially around digital and eBusiness operations and the programme’s webinars gave me, as an entrepreneur, an awareness of the essential digital elements of our operation and the skills to implement and manage the crucial digital tools.“
Depo is utilising the digital tools and skills he has acquired on the programme to build an email list of art collectors. He plans to develop the Galleria Klik limited-edition art business and launch an original art offering by the end of 2025.
